The SAEU3H digital acoustic emission instrument is based on the Windows system and adopts the US3.0 communication architecture. It consists of four main components: sensors, preamplifiers, the main unit (USB acquisition box), and a computer equipped with acquisition and analysis software.

Hardware Features:

  1. The main chassis and computer are independent of each other, connected via USB, allowing the computer to be freely selected and replaced.
  2. A single USB 3.0 interface connects to the computer with a real-time continuous throughput of 300 MB/s, capable of meeting the acquisition of 3 million sets per second of characteristic parameters or 300 MB/s of continuous waveform acquisition.
  3. Supports both AC and DC power supply modes and can be equipped with a battery for field testing.
  4. Each acquisition card has four independent channels, a sampling rate of 10 MSPS, a sampling precision of 16 bits, and is compact and lightweight for easy portability and transportation.
  5. Good scalability in the number of channels, expandable up to 200 channels.
  6. Dual filtering with hardware real-time analog and digital filters, allowing filtering in any frequency band through various methods.
  7. Program-controlled acquisition of independent real-time original waveforms, FFT waveforms, and parameters for all channels.

Main Unit—USB Acoustic Emission Acquisition Box

1.The main chassis comes in three models: 4-channel, 20-channel, and 48-channel. By selecting the appropriate main unit model and cascading multiple units, an acoustic emission detection instrument with 4 to 200 channels can be configured.

2.Interfaces: Small chassis provide USB 3.0 and Ethernet port options for connecting to a computer. Medium and large chassis provide USB 3.0 communication and optional network interface cards to expand into network-communication-enabled acoustic emission main units.

3.Each acquisition card is equipped with 1 Gb of large-capacity DDR memory to ensure no data loss during the transmission of a large amount of instantaneous signals (less than 1 Gb/s).

4.Multiple waveform acquisition trigger modes: threshold trigger, time trigger, external trigger, and parameter trigger to meet various acquisition needs.

5.Oscilloscope-style synchronous waveform acquisition mode: when any main channel is triggered, other servo channels will synchronously acquire waveforms.

6.Hardware real-time digital filter function: allows setting of pass-through, high-pass, low-pass, band-pass, and band-stop filters at any value within the 0 kHz–2.5 MHz frequency range. Each channel's continuous signal undergoes waveform reconstruction after digital filtering, and the reconstructed waveform generates acoustic emission parameters. Channels can be independently configured.

7.Hardware real-time FFT analysis function: the acquisition card hardware outputs FFT frequency-domain waveforms and power spectrum parameters for continuous signals. Channels can be independently configured.

8.Automatic detection of preamplifier status for convenient field debugging. The preamplifier voltage is adjustable to accommodate different specifications of preamplifiers.

9.Automatic sensor testing: built-in AST function allows the acquisition card to emit acoustic emission signals for testing.

10.The chassis is made of full aluminum alloy material, with the entire chassis frame and panels designed for conductive interconnection, enhancing electromagnetic interference resistance.

11.Power supply and heat dissipation are precisely designed according to thermodynamics and aerodynamics to ensure uniform heat dissipation, reliability, and stable long-term operation under the most demanding conditions.

12.Standard industrial chassis with a PXI-like plug-and-play functional module structure, offering good scalability. Functional module cards such as acquisition boards are relatively independent of the chassis, facilitating equipment maintenance and upgrades.

13.The front panel features multiple groups of indicator lights for power, USB communication, operation, parameters, waveforms, alarms, external parameters, cascading, etc., making it easy to monitor the equipment's operating status. External trigger and alarm output are supported.

14.Two methods for generating acoustic emission characteristic parameters: besides real-time parameter generation by the acquisition card hardware, parameters can also be regenerated from waveforms by resetting parameter generation conditions in the software.

15.Single waveform sampling length per channel can reach up to 128k sampling points simultaneously, with channels independently configurable.

16.Pre-trigger acquisition length can reach up to 128k sampling points, with channels independently configurable.

17.Main unit noise: <15 dB (no load).

18.Dynamic range: 85 dB.

● Multiple models of acoustic emission sensors are available, covering various frequency bands, temperatures, and sizes.

● High sensitivity and good consistency; each sensor undergoes strict testing before leaving the factory.

● High-temperature sensors can operate at temperatures up to 600°C, with sensitivity comparable to conventional sensors under high-temperature conditions.

● Models with built-in magnetic fixtures, waterproofing, and other special purposes are available.

● Design engineers can customize specialized sensors according to user needs at any time.

PAS with Preamplifier

The PAS preamplifier is a broadband universal type, suitable for various models of sensors and acquisition cards.

1. Gain: adjustable 20/40/60 dB.

2. Bandwidth: 1.3 kHz–1.2 MHz.

3. Gain: 40 dB.

4. Noise: <24 dB (40 dB gain with input shorted).

5. Four-stage filtering: 20 kHz–1200 kHz, 100 kHz–400 kHz, 20 kHz–120 kHz, 1 kHz–40 kHz.

1. Supports the latest operating systems such as 64-bit Windows 7 and Windows 10.

2. Can be installed on multiple computers simultaneously with no user limit, facilitating multi-user post-analysis and collaborative research.

3. Customizable specialized functions and characteristic parameters for users.

4. Provides drivers and dynamic libraries for users to facilitate secondary software development.

5. Features 2D and 3D localization display functions for linear, planar, spherical, cylindrical, and tank bottom configurations.

6. Allows simultaneous creation of multiple view groups, with each group displaying multiple views. One set of data can be synchronously displayed and analyzed in all views of all view groups in real time.

7. Each channel can be individually configured for waveform trigger threshold, parameter trigger threshold, analog filter, board gain, preamplifier gain, main amplifier gain, waveform pre/post acquisition length, etc.

8. Waveform and parameter data are acquired and stored independently, facilitating separate playback and analysis.

9. Data can be converted and exported in Excel or TXT format.

10. Integrates waveform analysis functions such as wavelet, spectrum, and neural network analysis.

The SAEU3H is a multi-channel integrated acoustic emission system primarily used for overall detection of large engineering structures. For long-term monitoring of dispersed points, the RAEM Acoustic Emission Module for Monitoring can be selected.
